Orion_ is absolutely right.

Another note, on a unacclerated Falcon, you will be happy to get some small sprites with 25fps on 320x200 Truecolor running. Don't expect the Falcon to deliver 320x200 fullscreen videos at 50fps for full frame updates.

Bus bandwidth, not system RAM is the limitation.

Grafx2 can import and export most basic ST file formats such as PI1, PC1 and NEO.

IIRC there is a BIOS compliant way without having to explicitly access system adresses.
use the BIOS call to read the exception vectors for the reset and then use Supexec() from XBIOS to actually call it.

Not yet but the dot matrix interepreter software from the RWAP project could be tailored to run on the CosmosEX aswell Only a special device driver is necessary for printing to an ACSI printer. It might work with HP or classic Epson printers. I don't know.

It is completely unnecessary to dig into the buffers themselves. Polling the contents out of unwanted contents is the clearest, safest and most portable way when a direct "clear buffer" call is not available.

No need to be so complicated. There is no need to mess with TOS own buffers. Just use the system calls as they were meant to, here in C but this is easily translated to bare m68k: void flush_kbd(void) { while(Bconstat(2) != 0) { (void)Bconin(2); } } reading is simple as uint32_t key = Bconin(2);

I personally have much better experience reading keys with the BIOS. Bconstat() to check if there is any and Bconin() to read the value. It also gives scancodes if decoded properly.

Those games probably need GEM to be initialized to work.

My menu does not use any custom keyboard routines and only uses TOS system calls to poll the input.

I am totally unaware of Sting driver internal documentation. However the STIK API is the one Sting does provide to applications.

Maybe it is easier to write a custom driver outside of Sting that conforms to providing the STIK API by itself?

Inlining some asm would be ok if I get the according snippets. I'm not too firm with the weird syntax of inline assembly with gcc.
