Re: USB printer driver project

Idea: collect one character at at a time and construct the USB printjob internally. Transfer it via USB onbly after after a timeout of 10s when no further updates have been received.

I doubt there are serious applications trying to output at such a slow rate.

Or buy a cheap USB Pad and wire some cabling to the contacts while disconnecting the USB controller.

Re: USB printer driver project

Another possibility, if someone knows how to capture the data going to the parallel port, my driver could transfer that data to the USB. I don't know if that would work however. For the FireBee, I don't know. My idea would be a BIOS intercept routine for the printer port outputs. That should be com...

Re: USB printer driver project

This is a great project and finally something to give the Netusbee more credibility on its USB part. The driver seems to be for TOS. Will it also work for smaller systems, e.q. 1MB STF? Even if it is without NVDI, would a passthrough for PCL or ESC/P to the USB port be feasible so that any TOS appli...

No, it was probably a Japanese brand, Epson, Sanyo or something. I would have recognized any Amstrad/Schneider branded device back then.

Re: Help getting my ST out of the attic and hooked up to a modern LCD monitor

Use the FlashFloppy firmware for the Gotek, there is plenty of decent documentation for this. The USB A-A cable method works fine.

I think I saw them once at a Doctor's office used with an electric typewriter or word processing system. But that was around 1992 or so.

Re: Ebay advertising accounts

We have been discussing this between us moderators.

One of the ideas would be to create a specific subforum only for Ebay auctions.
As long as there is no other spam by those persons, we do not object posting about auctions on Atari stuffs.

More user feedback would be appreciated though.

Re: Wanted: 3D Printed Gotek Mount for Atari/Amiga

I tried to install my Gotek mount this morning and everything is working fine. Except the screw holes are too small for the normal floppy screws to fit. I cannot put the mounting properly on the distance adaptapers used to hold the old floppy drive. Which sort of screw is needed to mount these prope...

Re: m68k-atari-mint-gcc and generation of PC relative code

I was actually toying with the idea to write bootsector code as a single void f(void) function in C and then extracting the code with objcopy

Just to check if it can be done.

Re: m68k-atari-mint-gcc and generation of PC relative code

-mpcrel works fine for my example. No internal compiler error at this point.
Gneerating code only for 020 and up would be a limitation. For me always plain 000 code is the goal.

As long as it gives a working implementation with atleast 25fps, I'm happy to see a working port.
Just bought the new C64 port on cartridge and it's nice!

Good luck on your project!

2 bought from that Ebay seller before they are unavailable again. I guess with these ST specific mounts, no case butchering is necessary to access the display, USB port and buttons?

Re: MSA/ST image mounting file system for Mint?

Necrobump, yay :) Ppera's tool links itself and all its calls deep into TOS so it will not work with FreeMiNT. Dimfile crashed for me a lot so a tool that will create a RAM disk from a disk image is ok for me too. As long as it is possible to read such a disk sector and/or trackwise for 1:1 copies a...

Uiptool should work without configuration.
However it does not provide generic network access, only the file transfer facility.

Setting up STIng is a p*** ** *** a**. So good luck on that.
Use real TAB spacing for the ROUTE.TAB (do NOT use 7UP to edit it!)

I bought it and played for 3 mins sofar. It works okay and I think it is about what I expected. I will play more until I decide if its crap or not. Nothing brainblasting high tech, just as expected. Otoh I couldn't track down any other decent PC remakes of Tempest that work well. There was one aroun...

The existing stick just needs some additional wires from the switches to a DB9 connector. Just disconnect the Pi or whatever device handles its switches and put the switches directly on the port.

If it wa a ROM you couldn't save :P

But yes, you can simply use the in-game save/restore mechanism to save to your disk image.

Re: Mega STe differences ?

Outside of the discussed topics, the MSTE does not have the Extended Joystick ports.
I noticed problems with Jagpad read attempts in the past. It is best to disable any EJP related register accesses in case a MSTE is detected.
