Re: New IDE For Dev' ?

AFAIK there is no custom made IDE for Atari ST crossdevelopment, only toolchains. I personally use Qt creator (thanks mfro for the suggestion), Vincent Riviere's crosscompiler toolchain and Hatari as a debugger. Hatari does not plug in so you cannot use the IDE to debug but otherwise it is a terrifi...

Re: Looking for YM Format FULL documentation

The YM format is known for not capturing sampled data correctly as it samples the registers at 50Hz, too slow for true digi sample replay. Otherwise IMHO these are the most complrte descriptions I have seen sofar, esp. the one by skeezix. I doubt there are documents going even deeper. If you find t...

Re: uip-tool

I tried packing my stuffs with ST-Zip and it took a loong time even with compression deactivated. Not to mention STZip crashed for me with weird Mint kernel messages, I think directory recursion didn't do it any good. But basically that is the way to go, bundle stuff in container files and transfer...

Re: uip-tool

Just to be sure: uiptool is not meant to run under MiNT. Yes but packing the stuffs for transfer was done under it. Regarding tar, the antique versions of tar available for MinT refused to pack directories for me. As I am not using any unixoid file systems, just plain old FAT, it might matter, it i...

Porting Devpac to GNU as syntax

I am currently porting older sources made with Devpac or Pure C compatible assemblers (AHCC) to GNU as. There are some statements which puzzle me as they won't translate. Can anyone help me? 1. moveq #0xFF,D0 -> "operands mismatch", original code is moveq #$ff,D0 2. and.w #~%111,D2 -> &quo...

Re: CosmosEX 3.0

You can also use the funtionality of the CosmosEX to map USB mass storage (pen drgives or SD card readers) as Atari drives.
I haven't used the ACSI drive on my Mini yet, only used the network and USB mapping. Both work fine for data exchange with other systems.

Re: CosmosEX 3.0

I think 160€ is a very reasonable price for a device with complete casing (I hope it is still 3,5" drive bay compatible). Esp,. when the device provides about 4 other devices by default: ACSI hard disk USB mass storage solution floppy drive emulation IKBD replacement Not to mention the expendab...

Re: Pc1 unpacking rout

No prob, I will add the test and deletion of the packed indication as it comes at no cost. But seriously I never ran into problems yet as I am dealing with code to import the data into my own applications/games/demos, not exporting them for others to use. In the latter case I would simply output an ...

Re: Pc1 unpacking rout

Well I have never heard about any compression byte. At which offset is it? 0? If so, hardly any software parses this. It can be masked out in case of real problems. The palette data is the most important part here. I personally prefer to keep complete PI1 pictures in memory with associated palette i...

Re: Pc1 unpacking rout

As it stands, this rout is 128 bytes. In my image converters, (MI-3 at MI-9) I use a more complete version, because I do not display the image directly on the screen, I recreate a complete PI1-3 image Nice and fast...just one note for those whodo not read the implementation 1:1, this routine only d...

With full Xbox360 controller support and being on STEAM, I would take a look at the finished game.

It is not a format of choice :P Outside of the web world, it is a PITA to parse from what I have tasted. Re: uip-tool

As I ran into network problems and had to manually restart uIPTool from time to time, I wrote a small utility that allows to tweak the AUTO boot sequence to run uiptool either once or in a repeating fashion. In the latter mode, the tool is restarted after crashing or undesired termination (e.q. I ac...
