Re: Core contributions to MiSTer

use a real AMI/Award BIOS like the ones used for PCem. I did some tests and I even managed to see Mister+ao486 POST an AMI BIOS with the "American Megatrends" logo in the top-left and the green "Energy" logo in the top-right part of the screen. It wouldn't be that crazy to load ...

Ah yes. It's been obfuscated. Probably already synthesised to GTECH or an equivalent

Not sure if it is any info you didn't already have but there is a i586 (Pentium) open source implementation

Re: Core contributions to MiSTer

ao486 I want to first do some measurements of how many cycles each instruction takes with core comparing to the original 80486 specs I don't think this is something worth doing. It is unlikely that the 486 HDL designer tried to match the cycle accuracy of the original 486, the wide range of 486 par...

I have two that look exactly like the originals but they are not NOS but reproduction

Re: Falcon 060 badges

I was pretty sure Atari never sold an STe 4060.

4MBytes, back then, cost almost as much as the STe itself

Re: Falcon 060 badges

If anyone knows how they made the STe 4060 badges (which were raised texture) I'd look at having some made. Or at least work out the NRE.

Re: Falcon 060 badges

Are the original Falcon030 badges textured and raised like the STe/STfm ones?

Do you know if the remakes are the same?

Heh. I've done something similar with the MegaSTe and the ACSI->SCSI adapter. Taken it out and not replaced the jumpers.

Re: Tempest 4000 on PC....oh dear

The reviews basically say if you've not played anything since Space Giraffe then it's cool (but pricey) but if you played TxK on any platform it is little more than that game re-branded.

Anyone played Polubius PSVR?

Re: Amstrad CPC Core

The best person to talk to is Kevin Thacker. He wrote the first "demo quality" emulator for the Amstrad back in the day called A-PC on the Amiga and later Arnold on PC. He's very approachable. I think he created CPCWiki too.

Ok, but because I want a couple if you return I'd be prepared to share 50:50 the NRE costs of making them. It would halve your risk/loss.

They are effectively free. You go to the MAXIM website and register with a non webmail (gmail/hotmail) email address. Then ask for some free samples. They'll send you 2 of each compatible NVRAM batteries. Even international postage is free. [Edit: That said I don't seem to be able to find the sample...
