Re: FlashFloppy Gotek firmware updated to v0.9.3a

Hello, Is a vanilla Gotek usable in a 1040STE (1.62 TOS) or does it need to be flashed with a custom FW? Yes it will but it's better to flash the gotek with hxc or flash floppy firmware as it makes life a lot easier to load disk images. Really? I thought common Gotek SFR1M44-U100 w/o HxC/FlashFlopp...

Re:

I have the disk and rom cartridge versions. The reason it attracted me was the ability for inline assembly within the basic program. I haven't really played about with them though since i bought them a while back. Wow! Would you be willing to share ROM dump with us, please? I am looking for cartrid...

I would try to contact https://www.in2connect.uk.com Otherwise no bigger distributor (rs-components, mouser, digikey, tme) has them.

Oh sorry, I missed that part. In that case, power rail would be my next focus. Is STE PSU OK? Are polarized capacitors on motherboard still good?

Re: External hard drive issue with ST (can't write to drive after power down)

My bet would be just failing drive. Lose head, dry bearing or issue on motor power rail.
Does the sympthom dissapear if you leave the drive on for some time and try again?

Now this is a but off topic, but is there a documented and working way to put GFA Basic on cartridge? Or Micron perhaps? Just for fun, not for serious coding.

Re: eBay deal gone bad

However, the lesson learned, no matter how bad you want to look, is to refuse the package. that's pretty relevant. So now we have a responsibility of more like 40% sender, 40% DHL and 20 % receiver. But I understand how temping it could be to open the package instead of refusing it. Glad you have g...

Re: eBay deal gone bad

The outer box was made from several separate pieces of (single wall) corrugated paper, stiched together by office tape. Literaly there was no corrugated paper in the corners, just a tape. Moreover the corrugated it was made from was obviously used before. It was thin, compressed, wet on touch, its w...

eBay deal gone bad

I have been looking for MegaST keyboard for quite a long time. You all know they are becoming rare as hens teeth so I was quite lucky to find one on german eBay eventually. I was rather hoping in UK layout, but you know, they are rare. Afterall, this offer included mice and original cable too. Final...

Re: Mega ST keyboard with unrsponsive keys

Mega ST keyboard does not have conductive contacts foil. There are Cherry MX switched on PCB instead. Yes, they can fail over time, especially if something was spilled in them. Good news is they are generály easy to clean and repair, and there is lot of dropin replacemets available. A trace on a PCB...

Scam user warning

As many of you know, I have sold tens of my ST2VGA adaptors to other fellow atarians of this forum. And if you are one of them, you also happen to know that I have not requested upfront payment from you, and only asked for money once I have shipped out your order. Some of you wondered why. Well, fir...
