Re: CosmosEx ACSI - issue - "bad" Hans

Issue resolved. I've just upgraded RPI SD card to the latest ON: ce_raspbian_2017-01-03.
I wasn't aware about this, and there were no any info in a config tool. Would be cool to add something like that: "There is a new OS for CosmosEx. Update SD card from url..."

Re: STE horizontal hardware scroll

actually bclr.b #0,$fffffa0f.w is not needed. Switch MFP into "Automatic End-interrupt mode", and you can skip that bclr.b. -------+-----+-----------------------------------------------------+---------- $FFFA17|byte |Vector Register BIT 7 6 5 4 3 . . .|R/W | |Vector Base Offset -----------...

Foxie wrote:Just running an hsync interrupt with rte takes 20% of the CPU time,

Are you sure about that 20%?
Entering an interrupt takes 44 cycles, RTE 20 cycles, it is 64 cycles per scanline (512 cycles).

64 / 512 = 12,5%

Re: STE horizontal hardware scroll

What's the CPU cost of saving/restoring registers too? What's the CPU cost of 200 timer b interrupts that just RTE? I did a dister with timer b and hardscroll but it must have been 20 years or so ago :D I have a figure in mind of around 20% CPU for that. Evil's example takes 12%: Timer_B_HBL: move....

Re: STE horizontal hardware scroll

The way around it is a little CPU-hungry but by setting the screen address counter each line, you can have infinite width (no need to mess with the lw-register at all). Can you please explain it more as I do not get this trick. by changing the screen address every line with TimerB or sync code (Evi...

Resolved: CosmosEx ACSI - issue - "bad" Hans

Hi All, my Cosmo began to behave strangely. There is no Drive O on the desktop. WiFi Connection isn't stable anymore. Web interface very often shows me a timeout. Hans chip has status "Bad": Cosmo_WEB.png After that, I've updated Cosmo from SSH and unfortunately nothing has changed. The da...

Yep I know, I was talking about Pouet.
My fault, I messed a bit with downloaded files and I've checked a wrong one :)

I love that song, it sounds cool on Amstrad.
I see a small bug, I guess there should be a scrolled text, but it looks:

I see that platform is Amstrad Plus but the Demo under "download" link is for definitely ST ( I see there tribute to Syntax Terror "Big border" compo)

In ST/STe Video frequecies are calculated from formula: - VBL = Mainclock / 4 / CPU clocks per line / Lines per VBLANK - HBL = Mainclock / 4 / CPU clocks per line And now some contants: 1) STE Main clock: 32 084 988 HZ 2) Color mode "50Hz": - CPU clocks per line: 512 - lines per VBLANK 313...

Re: STEEM SSE Blitter bug

STEEM SSE doesn't update blitter source and destination address registers ($ff8a24 & $ff8a32) to point to last word accessed when finishing blit. Real ST Blitter hardware does this (I verified on my old 520STE). Very useful when doing lots of small blits in fullscreen code as one can just keep ...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

just to be precise, I'm excited about Vampire card for Atari, but Amiga (with or without Vampire) is out of my scope of interest.
And yep, EmuTOS on a Amiga is nice. :)
