Re: New book release: Beyond The Borders [The Atari ST and The Creative People vol.2]

I actually got two - I'm thinking one might have been earlier from the kickstarter segment? No problem, just keep it or resale it. Whatsoever. Well, I'm pretty sure I actually paid for both - I just forgot that I had a standing order in place when I ordered the second one. Not a problem th...

Re: Falcon 030 Microbox board

While many in the U.S. were awaiting our Falcon order with Toad Computers, Jennifer said a few times getting the Falcon RF interference certified was a substantial cause of the delayed release. I miss Toad Computer :( I loved Toad Computer and Dave and Jennifer and Ray and.... I can still remember ...

Listen, I hear ya and understand completely.

My father one time told me that as I got older time would pass by
quicker and quicker (or at least the perception thereof). I scoffed to
myself about that but I swear, he was right. :)

Re: New book release: Beyond The Borders [The Atari ST and The Creative People vol.2]

Just got mine in today! Looking forward to reading it, once I get the time. Hmm...the grass isn't that big...the oil in the car could go a couple more hundred miles... :) Let the grass grow! Really? You ordered the book and 3 days later you got it? In the US? Usually takes up to 12 days. Re...

Unfortunately, those prizes (magazines) are not available because

Sorry about that.

Re: Very first computer

In 1982/83 I bought a discounted, closeout 800XL from a local Magic Mart. It was $99. Next paycheck I got a 1050 drive, followed by an offbrand RGB monitor with the video cable for it. I can still remember typing in all the programs from the manual (Lightning!) and magazines but not being able to sa...

Hi there, My names Allan (you probably couldn't guess). I believe my family had a 2600 when I was younger. Just got an ST (I think) from a charity shop. I don't physically have it yet (I will be collecting it soon) I am an absolute beginner. I din't have any cables, software or hardware yet. I reall...

I'd contact Frank Lucas about the Pak/2 kits.

The Pak/3 stuff is pretty much luck - if you can find someone selling any. :(

Re: Recommended accelerator options for ST

The HBS640 T36 is the fastest option if you can locate one. An ST version of the wicher is certainly possible, I suspect that's where Exxos want to go, with fastram a lot of the drawbacks of lacking cache is mitigated, but no, the amiga version wont work with atari. I'm assuming you mean fastest of...

Re: Recommended accelerator options for ST

Most Games will not work with a 020 or 030 CPU booster ... You need a 68000 to run Games and no TOS 2.06. Better is 1.04 (ST) or 1.62 (STE). I'd not totally disagree with that statement but I'd have to qualify it - using the adapted games from PPera or Dbug, you can run many of them on accelerators...

Re: Recommended accelerator options for ST

I’d like to play some old games at faster frames rates. What accelerators or hardware upgrades might you recommend? Well, I could get a ban for this replay, but to be honest if you want to play smoother, faster ST games ( sprite ones, not the vector ones ), the best option ( and much more cheaper t...
