Yes, they went out of business as SoundPool a long time ago. The site has remained, but deteriorated over the years it seems.

Re: What is the ultimate Cubase set up?

Realistically there isn't one. Of course the list is endless in terms of music instruments. For all out MIDI, then arguably in Atari circles the Falcon with the specific Falcon peripherals that have been mentioned before, but then in terms of pure MIDI, some would say the TT for crunching, but then ...

Re: CAF with SCSI to SD adaptor

Hi HDDriver generally has to be version 7.93. As per Uwe Seimet's HDDriver website, FAQ as follows: Is there anything to consider when using Cubase Audio? Cubase Audio does not handle the Falcon's SCSI bus compliant to the standard, which can lead to problems with HDDRIVER 8 and newer. If the CAFFIX...

Re: MIDI Hardware/Software recommendations?

I am not so close to the TT, but also have Neodesk 4 and Geneva, quite like that combo too. True about Cubase and monochrome.

SY85, nice, I have one of those too, really like that synth / rompler.

I'll try and get a pic up the weekend, away working at the moment.

...and dont forget the Starrtrak DSP board for VME TTs! :D Nice, wasn't aware of that, I think there was also Digital F/X DMEX-4, so little information about this though. I actually like the Replay 16 and Breakthru 2 combination. I bought both back in the day, and used them. Really nice looking sof...

Re: MIDI Hardware/Software recommendations?

Actually, so it's interesting when you start thinking about this. People often confuse samplers, digital multi-tracks, D2D recorders (early DAWs) etc... So when you start to think about it, what did we have similar and better than Replay 16 as out and out samplers with a quality DAC / ADC. That is, ...

Re: MIDI Hardware/Software recommendations?

Yeah the Replay 16 was perhaps not Pro quality, but it was fun! Wasnt there originally a £2-300 version of the Replay16 by AVR? I remember seeing this in ST Format magazine. Perhaps the more expensive unit had higher quality DACs? I do not know that Replay with steroids, but I would like to have mo...

Re: Cubase 3.1 MIDI on 060?

Hi, well I am a CT60e owner, and Cubase Audio 2.06 as well as Cubase 3.01. I'd love to give an update, but alas I have been too busy to install the CT60e to date. It will be a while yet too, too pre-occupied, but when I do, I will try and remember to update.

Re: Upgrading serial port for higher speed / more midi stability

That's interesting, I see the above reads 'cascading MM1s', but not specifically cascading different MIDI peripherals such as the SMPs or M04. Is there anywhere that reads you can do this? I always assumed as the MM1 is the only MIDI peripheral which connects to the printer port and has a 'thru' por...

Re: Soundpool surround encoder

SoundPool were by and large an Atari only company. However some of their products were universal, such as their Sample Rate Converters, Sync Boxes etc... found at the bottom of the page: http://atari.soundpool.de/prod_e.htm . What I don't remember was their Mac and PC PCI cards, but they are listed ...

Re: DMA to SCSI-II (Steinberg): manual and floppy.

Hi again, I also have acquired a DMA to SCSI-II. Again I don't have the manual or disk, however the driver software should be in your Cubase Audio v1.1 zip you posted, it's in the SCSI_DRV folder named SHDI. I believe that's what the disk you are referring contained, along with D3 and D5 mixer maps....

Yeah that's Cubase Audio 1.1 over at the Steinberg FTP, that's supposed to be corrupt by the way.

Re: Cubase Audio for Atari & Yamaha CBX-D5.

Certainly not fake, I believe it to be the same version, Cubase Audio v1.1 aka Cubase Audio Falcon v1.1 with the capability to integrate with Falcon, or ST, STe and TT regarding audio with the CBX. Regarding manual, I think you are somewhat correct, I think it would be the v1.1 manual, or potentiall...

Re: Cubase Audio for Atari & Yamaha CBX-D5.

Hi Atarieterno! As you probably know there is no Cubase Audio titled 'Atari Cubase Audio CBX' per se, only Cubase Audio vx.x or Cubase Audio Falcon vx.x. The manual you are after would be for Cubase Audio v1.1, also referred to as Cubase Audio Falcon v1.1, this is the version that works on ST, STe, ...

Re: Modem midi - how to set up in Cubase and Notator?

Actually if you look at ST Format issue 79 in the link, there is an advertisement from Software Technology, they distributed many music and MIDI related items for Atari back in the day in the UK. They used to sell the Gajits software, the makers of Sequencer One and Breakthru.

Re: Modem midi - how to set up in Cubase and Notator?

Hi edingaclc, you may be able to use it with the TT, I am not 100% certain on compatibility. Can't remember the differences between v1 and v2, but it's lineage started with a sequencer called Sequencer One. Note the 'plus' with v2 only meant you got a hardware MIDI out to connect to the parallel por...

That's cool!

You could try Exxos, he no longer graces this forum, but I know he was interested at one point.
He can be found on his own Atari hardware forum and site: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/
