Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

Talking about buggy games: Iron Lord . Talking about tournaments with bad crack: Son Shu Shi . I'm really 'impressed' how some errors went unnoticed over decades. Yeah, same here. Son Shu Shi is notorious now, but how it went unnoticed for so long is almost unbelievable. The only game I ever experi...

Re: The "New horizons" of the new Atari brand.

This "Atari" has as much relevance to the Atari we are all here to talk about as the Sinclair brand now has to people who enjoyed the ZX81 and the Spectrum. I personally don't give a toss either way about LGBT stuff, and I live in the gay capital of Britain. I don't give a rats arse either...

Looking for a game called Location Crisslefridge? Was on an ST User disk at one point?

I had this game on an ST User disk around 1990 (ish) and all I remember of it is it was not quite a Boulderdash clone, but it looked just like Boulderdash, and played very similarly to it. There were toxic waste symbols, and also warps, and I would really like to try it out again. If anyone has the ...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

I guess this is meant only for commercial games, not free/hobby ones. Ones that were bought and which greatly disappointed compared to one's expectations, so much that one still vividly remembers them? Yes, exactly! The games that we paid for because of screenshots! or paid reviews  Personall...

And no, we don't need worst game lists. They just don't deserve our time. Why talk about crap, when there is plenty of quality games barely known.

OK. I respect your opinion. Was just having a bit of fun.

There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

Everyone likes to talk about the best ST classic games, but no-one ever mentions the ones to avoid. Only a bit of fun, but my top 5 would be: 1. Line Of Fire - One of the worst ports ever, there was probably some way this game could have worked on non superscaler hardware, but this port is terrible....

Re: any one use both Atari and Amiga

I remember that when I was a child, we had both Atari and Amiga... But it felt like, you know, mixing Pepsi with Coke. :P So we got rid of Atari (it was older) and Amiga became my first gaming love. I only had Amiga 500 Plus - but I don't own it anymore. So... If you would have to recommend a simil...

yeah, I got a load from a stall at the stafford computer show around the same time - jags for 25, lynxs for 15 I think. All still boxed in my loft :) the Lynxs were the 'Batman' bundled ones, but without the actual Batman game for some reason. The Makro I'm remembering was the one in Stoke. Maybe t...

Anybody remember this?

Back in (I think...) 1997 there was a members only cash and carry called Makro in the UK, and for a brief period of time they were selling brand new Atari Jaguars for £25 (VAT extra) with an extra controller, Cannon Fodder, Wolfenstein 3D, Missile Command 3D and a carry case, all taped together as o...

Yes, this game in arcade use all in all for sprites 1mb of gfx. with the 8x8 tiles, let's count 2mb of GFX. For arcade graphics accuracy, 4mb :) Hi Silver, if you don't mind me asking, how were you able to rip the sprites from the Arcade board? The sprites / Objects are stored in bitmap chunky. You...

EAB http://eab.abime.net/search.php?searchid=4458086 is the best Amiga forum. I own and like both Atari and Amiga computers. Where are you based? Yeah, EAB is the best. http://www.amigaforum.de/ is good too if you understand German, and Lemon Amiga is good if you want to get into WHDLoad / Gaming: ...

This has to be my favorite Arcade game of all time. Re: Processor comparisons

So yes, a Falcon with an 030 (especially with a DSP) could do things a 386 or 486 could not. But try something that takes raw CPU power and watch a 486 or even 386DX40 stomp a Falcon into oblivion... So everything is very relative, it is not equal to compare processors thinking of Doom or Quake, th...

Re: 1040STe and SC1435....

I had the Philips CM8833 also, and I felt that the SC1435 was a step down from that when I got one a year later, after my CM8833 had moved on to my Amiga. It was a nice design though to the housing, far better than the Philips monitor. In my opinion though, nothing matches the design of the original...

I remember having one of these mousepads - did these come standard with the 520STFM or were they bundled in with a package? I think my ST came from Silica Shop - did they include one in their package that they sold? Yeah, I got one with my 520STFM Powerpack with the extra stuff like gfa basic, hype...
