Re: rso 4096 malware decryption

Have a look here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/teslacrypt-shuts-down-and-releases-master-decryption-key/ Edit: it seems there are several types of ransomware which use RSA4096, you will have to find out exactly what version you have. Re: Wish we could get this...

I doubt they are 3D printed, most likely someone got hold of the original molds. I can find how much it would cost to manufacture a mold for STf/STe casing, I have a friend who works in the industry here in Portugal and I can have a talk with him. He's a bit overwhelmed with work right now, will hav...

An idea for external ST keyboard case

Just saw on Reddit (r/MechanicalKeyboards subreddit) a great idea to make a case to convert an internal ST keyboard to external together with a simple adapter for MegaST/MegaSTe/TT. Custom acrylic case: http://imgur.com/a/pvm42 Adapter for internal ST keyboard to be connected to MST/MSTe/TT: https:/...

Re: Atari Megafile 30

You need TOS 2.0x to be able to boot from it Why is that? Are you confusing this with an IDE drive? TOS 1.0x can boot from ACSI hard disks very well. (Though I recommend at least TOS 1.04, because several file system bugs were fixed there.) I was convinced of that but since I haven't used my Megafi...

Re: Atari Megafile 30

The Megafile 30 is an external 32MB hard drive for the ST, connected through the ACSI port (grossly put a simplified SCSI port but not compatible). The hard disk inside usually is a very noisy Seagate ST-238R with a MFM interface. You need TOS 2.0x to be able to boot from it, otherwise hard disk uti...

Re: PC mouse mod for ATARI.

I reported the symptoms to Kevin from KMtech, he might have refined the programming of the PIC and make it work since I bought this in October 2015. Might have been the mice I tried it with, though I tried with several that worked ok with my DIY adapter. Don't forget they advertise them mainly to th...

Re: PC mouse mod for ATARI.

Besides the DIY adapter I posted above, I can recommend this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-MKIII-Amiga-Atari-PS-2-mouse-adapter-converter-mode-switch-jumpers-/111263715613?hash=item19e7d5911d I have bought the new MkIV, didn't work ok because of some changes in the programming of the PIC due to...

Re: PC mouse mod for ATARI.

I used the Mouse adapter v1.3 schematic in this page to make my own adapter, works fine. I also bough one on Ebay, the only diference is that it acelerates cursor a bit.

Re: [MSTE] booting issues

I see you are using the AHDI driver, there should be a formatting utility called 'hdx.prg'. Do you have all the files that came with the driver?

Check out how to use AHDI here: http://www.atari-wiki.com/?title=AHDI (the download link at the bottom doesn't work anymore)

Re: [MSTE] booting issues

Hi there. Several things are possible. The most probable is that the HDD is failing. Not much you can do except backup what you have in there while it works. Then replace the HDD... which is difficult, since is 25 year old tech. Best options are the Ultrasatan, or a SCSI to CF/SD if you want to keep...

Re: External Gotek Adapter?

Hi! If you try to open drive B and you only have one drive, it will ask to place the disk in drive A and open it as B. This is normal operation for TOS/GEM. As for the external drive, I would also like to have a external drive. Problem is that the external drive connectors are non-standard and rare ...

Re: WTB: Mega STe

It was in very good condition, still needed some care. Reset switch was faulty (no spring/cap), replaced with a small press switch from an old CD-ROM; there was a capacitor bent and crushed under the PSU fan, replaced it; the clock lithium battery was completely dead, bought a new one and now it hol...
